They also help if gambling is a problem for you or a family member. If you are having difficulty paying off regular bills or are having trouble managing debt, a Financial Counsellor may be what you need.
Are You:
  • Always short at the end of the week?
  • Slipping further and further behind?
  • Worried about debts?
  • Afraid to answer the phone?
  • Too worried to open the mail?
  • Feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start?

Or maybe you just want to:

  • Prepare a budget

  • Set something aside for when things go wrong
  • Be clear on your rights in regards to debt
  • Know how to talk to creditors to get the results you want
  • Make sure you know all your options
  • Plan for the future

YFS Financial Counsellors can help you with these things and many more. Whether you want help with a simple budget or are considering bankruptcy, Financial Counsellors will give you the information you need to make the decisions that are right for you.

Financial Counsellors do not give Centrelink, business or tax advice and do not provide emergency relief.

Financial Counselling for people affected by problem gambling: If gambling is a problem for you or a family member, then a YFS Problem Gambling Financial Counsellor may be able to help. They will work with you to develop strategies to protect your funds, and give you back a sense of control over your money.
