BEAUCARE

Beaucare is a local community welfare and social assistance organisation managed by a voluntary Board of Non-Executive Directors.

Beaucare provides a broad range of community services. These include child care, family support, youth development, services for the frail aged and people with a disability and community centre coordination.

OUR BOARD

Beaucare is a high performing and financially secure organisation with a highly functional, long serving and proactive Board of very enthusiastic volunteers.

Due to the pending departure of some of our long-standing Board members, we are now seeking applications for skilled and willing Board volunteers who are ideally located in, and/or can proactively represent, the Scenic Rim.

The position is voluntary.

There are 10 Board meetings and an AGM each year. Meetings are held on a Wednesday monthly for a duration of approximately 2 hours. There may be an occasional event or function to attend on behalf of Beaucare.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend Board meetings and respective Board committees
  • Actively participate in Board discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to the organisation, including the development of the organisation’s strategic direction.
  • Ensure organisational compliance with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the organisation's performance and provide constructive feedback to GM.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation, promoting its work and values to stakeholders.

QUALITIES WE ARE SEEKING IN CANDIDATES

  • Strong commitment to the organisation's purpose and vision.
  • Experience serving on non-profit Boards or equivalent leadership roles in committees(preferred but not essential)
  • Understanding and awareness of the social services and community care sectors would be helpful (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements of NFP organisations/Company Limited by Guarantee

You will have a genuine interest in local community welfare and social assistance and are looking to contribute to Beaucare's strategic vision whilst also providing lived experience to the Board.

Candidates with lived experience in the areas of aged care, child care, disability and youth services are actively encouraged to apply.
